2024 Advanced Grade 18+ Referee Recertification Requirements

Below are the 10 steps to complete to maintain your "Advance Grade Referee Status" for 2024, whether that is an NC State Referee or Regional Referee.  Upon completion of all the steps below, PLEASE CONTACT NCSRA ADMINISTRATOR ERICK VARONE AT MICHAELSOFFICIAL14@GMAIL.COM UPON COMPLETION SO HE CAN PROCESS YOUR 2024 ADVANCED GRADE RECERTIFICATION AND SEND YOU YOUR 2024 REFEREE BADGE.

10 Easy Steps

1

Please complete the Supplemental Google Doc Form as the NCSRA office will use this to track referees completing their recerts.  Please update your Arbiter account if any of your info has changed (address, email, phone #).  The 2024 Advance Grade Referee Registration fee is $120.00 which will be charged to the credit card you provide.  The direct link to the 2024 Recertifying Referee Registration is here:

Please also update your US Soccer Learning Center Account if any of your info has changed.  A direct link to the US Soccer Learning Center is here:  Access You Learning Center Account

Complete the 2024 Regional Referee Course.

Please use the same email you have listed in your arbiter account when registering for this course so you will receive credit upon completion.

Complete the online Safesport Training Course, accessed through the US Soccer Learning Center Safeguarding Page.  Log in to your Learning Center Account and from the landing page, select "Safeguarding" and then select the Safesport Training.  Once completed, please email the completion certificate to the NCSRA Office at ncsra@ncsoccer.org.  We (NCSRA) will run your required Background Check.  You DO NOT have to take the Background Check on the US Soccer Website and pay the additional $30, as this is included in your NCSRA registration.

Complete the online Safe and Healthy Playing Environments Course, accessed through the US Soccer Learning Center Safeguarding Page.  Log in to your Learning Center Account and from the landing page, select "Safeguarding" and then select the Safe and Healthy Playing Environments Course.  This course DOES NOT issue a completion certificate and will be manually updated by the NCSRA office.

Complete the 2024 Regional Referee Test.

Please use the same email you have listed in your arbiter account when registering for this test so you will receive credit upon completion. This test has 100 questions and 75% is the passing score.  If you do not get 75% or higher, you will be able to take the test again.

Attendance at the 2023 Advanced Training Seminar via zoom.  If you were unable to attend the session, there will be a recording of the session available to watch, which will include a quiz specific to the session that must be passed to receive credit.

Complete the required PFT for your NC State or Regional Referee requirement.  Below is the direct link to the 2023/2024 PFT Google Doc Form.  This has the current PFT'S scheduled and info about each.  Once additional PFT dates are scheduled across the state, they will be added and available for sign-up.

Complete your required maintenance assessments.  Payment must be made PRIOR to your assessment and direct links to those payments are listed in step 10.   For NC State Referees, 1 assessment on any U15 or above match is required to maintain this grade. This may be done by an approved ref mentor, ref coach, or national ref coach.  For Regional Referees, 2 maintenance assessments are required.  1 may be a U18/19 youth match, but the other must be on an Adult Amature match.  All Regional Referee assessments must be 90 minute matches.  For upgrade to Regional Referee 3 assessments are required.  1 may be a U18/19 youth match but 2 must be on Adult Amature matches, and done by 2 different ref coaches.

Once these 10 steps are completed, YOU MUST email NCSRA Administrator Erick Varone at michaelsofficial14@gmail.com to process your 2024 Advanced Grade Recertification and have your 2024 Referee Badge mailed to the address listed in your arbiter account.
