Referee Mentor Program

 

  The NCSRA Referee Mentor Program

 Starting in January 2008

 Mission

 “The NCSRA Mentor Program’s mission is to build a solid base of knowledge and skills in the art of

 officiating soccer, as well as give opportunity and exposure to the referees who will be the driving

 force of tomorrow’s NCSRA”

 

How To Qualify

1. Minimum 16 years of age

2. Minimum 2 years certified with USSF and in good standing

3. Minimum 30 matches, either R or AR

4. Desire to advance to State Referee II (Grade 6)

5. Recommendation from assignor, assessor, ARA, or mentor

     *      6 Regions across North Carolina:

 

·         Western NC – Asheville, Hickory, Boone

·         Charlotte area – including Cabarrus, Concord, Salisbury

·         Central NC – Statesville, Winston-Salem, High Point, Greensboro

·         Triangle – Raleigh, Durham, Chapel Hill, Cary, Apex, Garner, Clayton

·         Fayetteville area – including Goldsboro, Wilson

·         Eastern NC – including Wilmington, Jacksonville, Elizabeth City

      *      Fitness training

*      Mechanics and Positioning

*      Player and Game Management

*      Managing rival teams, high emotion situations, coaches, and parents

*      Referee and Assistant Referee skills

How will we Learn

      *      Individual and group instruction from FIFA panel members, National Referees, and NCSRA Staff

*      Video analysis and feedback

*      Attendance at Professional matches and Q&A with Professional referee crews

 Other Good Stuff

      *      Select mentees may participate in a Referee School held out of state with USSF Staff

*      End of year party, raffle, and awards
